Wake Up The Wolf

Arbirk releases 3rd single from their big-laden and ambitious debut album.

’Wake Up The Wolf’ is besides being the last track on the album also the last song he finished. The recording stands out by being recorded, not in a studio, but in a bar with real people in Copenhagen, and then mixed from a one-take live recording.

Rasmus tells about the recording: ”On a hot summer’s day, we borrowed the keys to a pub with a great white piano and recorded the song in the sauna-like hot room, where the guests continued to drop in and trucks drove past outside. It serves as a perfect ending to the album, waking up totally confused but with a clear urge to start living again.”

According to the storyline on the album Disguises, ’Wake Up The Wolf’ begins right where our main character throws her/himself into death from Bridge Queen Louisa. Only to wake up from a dream, now completely aware that something needs to be fixed.

The song is about breaking free from your own limits and letting go, accepting that ones mistakes and flaws does not define you, but is a part of who you are. It is also to be understood in a context of holding back and no longer being the person you really want to be.
